Islands and peninsulas planned for prep space, seating and storage. We set dimensions, services and worktop overhangs from the Lymington showroom, then fit across Hampshire.
Islands need clear space on working sides - typically 900 mm where ovens or dishwashers open. Seating overhangs add 300 mm or more per side and change the centre of mass for stone tops. Hob islands need an extractor overhead or a downdraft, plus fire-safe distances to combustible panels. Fridge and tall-unit door swings are modelled before island length is fixed.
Large stone islands may need intermediate support or a steel frame hidden in the cabinet core. Waterfall joints are placed away from the main viewpoint where possible. Pop-up sockets and face-mounted outlets on islands follow socket regulations - positions are noted for a qualified electrician.
Tell us how many seats you need, whether the hob sits on the island, and what storage is missing. We will propose proportions that fit the floor plan.
