Wallpaper shows every bump and colour bleed underneath. Flat, sealed walls with the right primer or size reduce blistering and show pattern more accurately.
Fill cracks and screw holes, sand smooth and remove dust. New plaster needs sizing or a suitable sealer before paste. Gloss paint should be deglossed or covered with lining paper. Heavy textures may need lining paper for a flat face. Allow all coatings to dry fully before hanging.

Surface prep varies by plaster, paint and lining needs. Crestwood of Lymington can advise when you choose your paper, so your decorator starts with the right sequence.
Choose papers in the showroom and we will talk through preparation before hanging day.
