Vases

Rug size sets how furniture groups sit in a room. Use these placement rules for sofas, dining tables and beds before you shop.
Common approach: sofa front legs on the rug, back legs off, with 15 - 25 cm of rug beyond the sofa. Alternatively, place a large rug under all seating with a consistent border to the walls. For dining, the rug should extend at least 60 cm beyond chair legs when pulled out.

Tape outlines help at home. In the showroom we can place samples against sofa depths and floor colours, and talk through fitted runners for halls and stairs when a loose rug is not enough.
