Sofa beds

Pull-out, click-clac and futon-style systems

Pull-out mechanisms hide the mattress in the sofa depth. Click-clac backs fold flat quickly, with thinner mattresses for short stays. Each mechanism needs clearance in front when open. Test the action in person so you feel the resistance and locking steps.

• Open clearance measured against coffee tables and rugs
• Mattress thickness versus bar feel through thin foams
• How often the bed is used guides the budget
• Arm widths affect sleeping width
